If you’re an aspiring lash business owner you’ve probably heard the statement: It takes money to make money! UGH – What a disempowering belief that is. Look, I get it. The startup costs for a business can be outrageous. However, I want to talk about the overwhelm of starting a business and the belief that starting a business is expensive and flip it on it’s head!
If you’re going to be a business owner, you need a new thought process that is going to help you feel empowered and in control of what’s ahead in your business.
If we were to take a simplified approach to running a business – how might our beliefs around business change? How might the actions, decisions and progress of our business change if we stopped trying to
make it seem so darn complicated?
What do I need to know about starting a lash business?
YOU MUST SHIFT YOUR MINDSET FROM SERVICE PROVIDER TO BUSINESS OWNER. There is no if, ands, or buts about it! You will make mistakes, and guess what – YOU WILL RECOVER FROM THEM. And better yet, learn from them! Mistakes are all a part of becoming a successful business owner. Heck, mistakes are all about being human!
How much money do I need to start a lash business?
This is a difficult question to answer point blank because it really depends. The biggest expense to starting a lash business is likely your location.
I’m not a huge fan of incurring debt to start up a lash business, as most lash artists have a very unhealthy relationship with money.
My recommendation: Saving money ahead of time for anything you want to invest in with your business. In addition to having a job that provides for your living expenses until your business is consistent enough to support you.
